eclipse is not noticing that I have j2re already installed.

I am trying to set up eclipse on my fedora core 3 and have installed the j2re 1.4 and for some ready it is not being recognized as being installed by the eclipse start up file.

The error message says the path it searched for j2re is not found. how do I set the path for the j2re which I know is installed?

I got that problem too. What I did was create a "fake" directory (of the path that eclipse looks for) containing a symbolic link to the real j2re executable. Do a "slocate j2re" if you need to find out where the real j2re is.
