Does anyone know how to fix kde in the new Mandriva?? Need lots of help
I just installed last night the new 2006 version of mandriva, but my only problem is that kde wont load all the way, it is like it boots and everything but the taskbar, and desktop icons are not there, i cant do anything, i cant right click or any of it, does anyone have any ideas??
I just decided to go back to the 2005 version until the kinks can be worked out, so for now i need to find out how to update KDE and my kernal. If you can help with that it would be great.
Updating KDE should be pretty easy. You can just get an rpm and update, or kill the old, and install fresh. 3.4.3 isn't really all that much more hot that I can tell over 3.4.2, but if you have something like 3.3, than 3.4 is a big improvement, including load times.
I am working on learning the kernel compliation stuff myself. The basic part was easy enough, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...9&goto=newpost and it worked without a hitch. As for the more advanced details, I am not there yet either.
