Type the command redhat-config-xfree86 into an x terminal.

I am unfamiliar with AS 2.1 as I thought we were talking Redhat. Is AS 2.1 some version of Redhat or Fedora?

If it is Redhat the page Red Hat Linux 9: Red Hat Linux Reference Guide Chapter 7. The X Window System explains it perfectly.
