Changing X resolutions

I have X 4.2.0 and I was wondering... How can I set it up to switch between multiple resolutions using CTRL+ALT++...
640x480, 800x600 and 1024x768 all work fine, but I would need a 320x240 and maybe a 512x384. How do I add them to the list. Do I have to make any special changes?

By the way, I'm using Mandrake 9.0 and my hardware supports those resolutions.

I need them to play some old movies coded at 320x240 in fullscreen using mplayer and dga. And the current lowest resolution is 640x480...

Thanks for the help... (Somehow I suspect it is rather easy to do...)
