cd & dvd burning


hi

Env: 2 PC with Linux operating system
PCs are in a local lan network
each pc has is own cd-rw /dev/hdc device
PRB:i want to perform cd full copy using input device located on the first pc and output device located on the second pc
(now i'm currently using k3b to write cd )

You might want to take a look at NFS.

Never done it this way, so it is just a guess.

Assuming you have NFS setup between the two linux boxes, and that the cd drive is shared in box1, you should be able to configure k3b on box 2 to read from cdrom on box1.

It would be easier just to generate and then burn an iso on one box.

i think this is what i need...
i was wondering if linux + nfs is able to mount the drive as shared so k3b on the second box is able to see the /dev/hdc of the other box...
or nfs is able to share only the directory which the drive is mounted ?

I THINK that NFS can only share the directory to witch the device is mounted. It would allow one access to the data on the disk either way.
