can only get access to ntfs file system sometimes through Samba

Hello I recently built a new computer as a headless server and am having trouble accessing a 1.5tb HD that is formatted with ntfs. I can access it on the host computer fine but when I try to access it with a win 7 pc through Samba it will not allow me access. I have another 1 tb drive that is formatted with ext4 and I can access it through Samba just fine. When I open my win 7 file browser it shows all of the shares but will only allow me to open the three on the ext4 drive. I bring up ntfs drive in gparted and it has a warning that states "unable to find mount point. unable to read the contents of this file system." and yet as I stated the drive mounts fine and will allow access through the host pc. I had this drive fully functioning with a ubuntu 10 variation in another pc. Should I have this ntfs drive on a particular sata controller?? I am running ubuntu 10.10 on a biostar mb with an amd athlon 2 x 3 proc and 4 gb ddr3...
any ideas would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

Remove spaces from name for the mount point deal maybe.

As for sometimes, I'd think ip or lease issue maybe or netbios name resolution.
