Yes, post your X log located in the path mentioned by mrGenixus, but as far as how to get it, you seem to say in your post that you don't even have access to the command line shell. First of all, there may be a startup option to start without starting X, whereupon you can find the logs. If not, put in your favorite Linux LiveCD and find the file. If you don't have a LiveCD and don't want to burn one (they're very good though...) then any Linux boot disk will do, as long as it gives you a basic shell... even the Debian install disk...
