Hi everyone,
I have a big problem: two days ago, while I was upgrading some Gnome packages to the new 2.10 version, in a Momentary Lapse Of Reason (
) I deleted my "~/.metacity" directory.
Now, obviously, Gnome doesn't start (splashscreen hangs on the "Metacity" icon and that's all). In the meantime, Metacity notifies me that it looking for a file called "~/.metacity/sessions/a_long_number.ms" (it's a XML file describing something about sessions... boh!).
I thought Metacity would create a new "~/.metacity/blablabla" when no one is found, but that's wrong. I think there are some "references" to those session files somewhere in my home that make Metacity search them.
I really don't know what to do now. I re-installed Metacity but nothing changes.
Do I have to remove my "~/.gnome*" and "~/.gconf*" maybe? Hope not, I don't want to lose my nice settings...
I'm using Debian Sid.
Many thanks to everyone!
Bye!
