When you get the line: andrew@localhost andrew
you have logged in and are running as a user named andrew on a machine named andrew. The login process is finished and you don't need to type login again.

Also if you would like some eye candy ,( KDE or GNOME)
once you have logged in ( hopfully as a user NOT root )
type startx .
[andrew@localhost andrew]$ startx
hope that helps

Same problem here by using FC6. Please the second and third floor be noticed that what the owner mean is using login to switch to another user account w/o logout.
