Arrow Amarok 1.4 or Amarok 2...? Tell me how to downgrade v2 to v1.4

Hello guys,

I have been using Slackware 13 till couple weeks. I find Amarok 2 not so cool as Amarok 1.4. I mean, its really like downgraded version with more sucking features...

Dumb UI, dumb playlist, I can't even remove positions marks (or either its too tricky to do that), and no need to overlap those big round buttons, when you quit Amarok, music SUDDENLY stops... wish it was like Amarok 1.4, when you close it music turns off smoothly..., cover manager never works for me :-D, I mostly listen to new age and there are no lyrics but even I gotta see "No lyrics found" and that screen never goes off the sight damn!

And I want to connect music DB to MySQL but I don't find that option anywhere in settings... where is that?

So what are your views?

And I'd like to downgrade my Amarok 2 to 1.4

How do I do that?

You'd probably have to remove 2 first and then install 1.4. I agree that version 2.0 was very erratic, buggy and lacking in features. Things have vastly improved as of version 2.2.0 (imho), the option to connect to a MySQL database is there. The music fades out as the track is stopping. I don't know why you can't disable the lyrics applet. I would suggest (if you can) instead of downgrading, upgrade to version 2.2.0

The middle (useless) plasma view can now be disabled and the UI rearranged to be like 1.4. 2.2 is definitly good. I switched from 1.4 and lost nothing except few years old scripts. 2.0 and 2.1 were terrible, but 2.2 worth trying.

I use version 1.4.10 (the last version) before Amarok 2. But i had to modified a file in the tarball before compiling, in order to have wikipedia support. It use MySQL, i will eventually try 2.2.0.
