Hello,
I am having trouble with bitweaver, so I (reluctantly, it's amazing but for LDAP) looking for further alternatives (dokuwiki is a no no!). I request the experienced experts to suggest me a good wiki that meets my following requirements:
1. LDAP authentication
2. ACL (access control lists)
3. Easy procedure to edit/add/remove pages
4. Capable to display source codes (in monospace and with indentation)
Optionally:
5. Database driven
6. Good search engine
why is dokuwiki a no no? some context on that would be potentially useful. It certainly ticks all the boxes apart from database, works great for me. maybe dekiwiki? that's very slick...

I have tried DokuWiki (my first try!) but there were a couple of issues, IIRC wrt syntax highlighting and ACL, were a bit problematic to me. I shall get back to it now and see if with my extended experience with wikis I can overcome those hitches.
Thanks acid_kewpie.
Ok, I have tried it now and this is what the status is with DokuWiki.
Default template was horrible, quickly switched to roundbox.
1. Displaying codes is a bit inconvenient. Adding double slashes is the solution, I wish there was a 'box' option or code highlighting, but it's not bad.
2. LDAP is still an issue, though I should give it a bit more try. It keeps saying, 'User authentication is temporarily unavailable. If this situation persists, please inform your Wiki Admin.' There are several reports on net for the same error so will have to go through it carefully.
Can you kindly share your experience and local.php (in relation) to LDAP please?
I just checked the code. I tried Headline with double equal and it shows something like a box. The real pain here is that the entire indentation of the code is gone! (
Is there a way (like a template) by which I can retain indentation. That's a very fundamental requirement and I am surprised to see it missing!
