Hi all,

need some help in making yahoo messenger work through squid. We have a ADS Domain [configured with GPO] with a terminal server [where users login and browse internet].We have Yahoo Messenger 8.1 installed on the terminal server.

To connect to internet we have a Linux proxy server running SQUID 2.6 STABLE17 configured to get authenticated from ADS with the help of squid_ldap_auth module.
configurations as follows:
|/usr/sbin/squid_ldap_auth -R -b "dc=mydomain,dc=com" -f sAMAccountName=%s -h my.ads.server.ip

Now the problem is, users are able to connect to internet through the proxy with authentication, except for yahoo messenger. We have all the ports opened neccessary for yahoo messenger.

I see the following message in access.log which shows that method CONNECT is being denied

1203071971.506 0 172.16.104.9 TCP_DENIED/407 1752 CONNECT login.yahoo.com:443 - NONE/- text/html 215

Also i get to know from the above log that the user is not challenged by squid for authentication when they try to login into yahoo messenger.

I am able to use yahoo if i disable authentication. Request some help on this regard.
