SAMBA - Windows Peer-2-Peer - access for everybody - read/only
Hi, I'm running fedora 13 as a server on my Windows Peer-2-Peer network as a samba server (v. 3.54), or at least I'm trying.
I am looking for a very simple smb.conf file which will give everybody on my home network read-only access to a shared volume served from my linux server.
Needless to say I tried umpteen different combinations of "sample" smb.conf files but to to avail.
I don't have a domain server or AD. Is it absolutely necessary for users to authenticate before they can access or even map this samba drive?
If so, could that user be "guest" and need no password?
By the way, iptables are set up correctly, selinux is in permissive mode and services smb and nmb are running.
