Rpm dependencies problem


Dear All,

I want to install gparted RPM on my 64bit machine, I have download this rpm but when I was execute the command rpm -ivh rpm name, it will failed to installed because of the dependencies. I have resolved some dependences using the yum command. I have create mycdrom repos to resolved the issue. but I am stuck to installed .so.0 shared dll file. How would I will run query against my cdrom repo to check whether my cdrom repo contain this .so.0 files or not.please Help me out to rectify the issue.

Can you give us the exact full name of the dependency file needed?

Hi,

The full name of the required dll are as follows.

1)libatkmm-1.6.so.1
2)libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0
3)libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0
4)libgdkmm-2.4.so01
5)libgiomm-2.4.so.1

etc

for example:
Code:
> rpm -q --whatprovides libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0
gtk2-32bit-2.18.9-0.23.1
But I have no idea what is available in your repo

HI,

successfully installed some .so.0 files from my cdrom repos but fail to search the below mention .so files

1)libatkmm-1.6.so.1
2)libgdkmm-2.4.so.1
3)libgiomm-2.4.so.1
4)libglibmm-2.4.so.1
5)libgtkmm-2.4.so.1
6)libpangomm-1.4.so.1

please help how we can find it.

probably this helps, but I'm not really sure: http://pkgs.org/download/libglibmm-2.4.so.1

The problem has been resolved by using the below mention command.
yum what provides "/*dll file name"

is this the SAME server that you DISABLED SELinux on instead of FIXING THE PROBLEM

there is a reason that yum was introduced 8 years ago
to SOLVE dependance problems

use YUM to install software

Code:
su -
yum install ProgramName
installing random rpm's from random websites using "rpm" will KILL your install so fast !!!!!

and will CAUSE your system to become FUBAR !!!!
