Update RPM dependencies problem

I'm having trouble installing the update to some KDE apps. I've installed suse 7.1. Now I've updated the kernel to 2.4.16-4gb. I've performed an online update and updated all requested packages. I've updated to KDE 3 and lost things like kppp for internet access and kpackage for updating packages. So I've downloaded these and I've got the following dependency problems :

bash-2.04# rpm -i *.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
qt >= 2.3.1 is needed by kde2-compat-2.2.2-217
/usr/bin/python is needed by kde2-compat-2.2.2-217

python is needed by libxml2-python-2.4.22-13
python is needed by libxslt-python-1.0.18-16

Does anyone have any idea of what packages I need to install first to resolve these issues or where I might find out? I double checked I've installed all recommended suse, xfree and kde updates.

The order in which you install is also important, which is
why rpm -i * , isn't always the best why to go.

I've tried every different order. No joy.

You can inquire in http://rpmfind.net on each library file listed to see what package it comes from.

For example:

libkdecore.so.2 comes from kdelibs
libkdeui.so.2 also comes from kdelibs
libqt.so.1 comes from the qt library for KDE
etc.

It looks like you haven't loaded some of the KDE3 rpms. Notice how they repeat, so its the same core KDE3 rpm packages that have not been loaded.
