Quotas not working, they are on in fstab, off in mtab

Quotas not working, they are on in fstab, off in mtab (and also on in /etc/default/grub)

Code:
[root@1 ~]# cat /etc/default/grub |grep CMD
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rd.lvm.lv=centos/swap vconsole.font=latarcyrheb-sun16 rd.lvm.lv=centos/root crashkernel=auto  vconsole.keymap=us rhgb quiet rootflags=uquota,pquota"
[root@1 ~]# cat /etc/fstab |grep centos-root
/dev/mapper/centos-root /                       xfs     defaults,usrquota,grpquota        1 1
[root@1 ~]# cat /etc/mtab  |grep centos-root
/dev/mapper/centos-root / xfs rw,relatime,attr2,inode64,noquota 0 0
If I try to edit mtab, it says invalid command

mtab shows noquota, even after a reboot.

Any ideas?

NM, I had to create a new grub.cfg file

Code:
cp -p /boot/grub2/grub.cfg /boot/grub2/grub.cfg.orig
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

Which version of CentOS you are using? I suppose it is CentOS 6. I had similar issue wherein quotas were not working. Later on I figure it out to be an issue with SeLinux messing up with quota. I disabled SeLinux and quota started working. May not be the case here, just sharing what I encountered.

You're welcome! Did it work, I mean was the issue with SELinux? If you can share it will be helpful for other members.

Enjoy Linux!!!

Rebuilding grub.cfg fixed it for me, selinux was already off, so I can't say if that was affecting it too or not.
