Unhappy /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab


Hi Friends !

What are the last two columns means in the ( /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab ) files. I understood all fields in the given files , except last two column arguments.

Help me............

There are the fsck and dump fields. They tell your bootloader to check them upon bootup, and the shutdown script to check them during shutdown. Or not, depending on the filesystem and the number given. That's the short and sweet version anyway
