Issue Facing whiile creating local Yum repository.


Hi All, I'm facing the issue while creating local repository on my local machine ( Centos 6.4).

1>output of loca.repo file :-
name=local
baseurl=file:///data/Packages
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

2> Error :-

[root@client yum.repos.d]# ls
CentOS-Base.repo CentOS-Debuginfo.repo CentOS-Media.repo CentOS-Vault.repo epel.repo epel-testing.repo local.repo
[root@client yum.repos.d]#
[root@client yum.repos.d]#
[root@client yum.repos.d]# yum list
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, refresh-packagekit, security
Error: File contains no section headers.
file: file://///etc/yum.repos.d/local.repo, line: 2
'name=local\n'
[root@client yum.repos.d]#

Did you follow the steps from the CentOS documentation to do this?

i would say you have bigger problems
cent 6.4
cent 6.5
cent 6.6
cent 6.7
are all UNSUPPORTED
also you are mixing a OLD and unsupported repo" CentOS-Vault.repo " with the base and epel
a very big NO-NO

also you have the old and out of date " CentOS-Media.repo " install dvd listed
remove that !


please stay up to date and reinstall with the current older CentOS 6.8 or the current CentOS 7.3
