CentOS VPS looking to launch firefox

Hey all,
So I recently got a VPS from hostgator and am now looking to get xwindows or xorg installed so that I can launch firefox from my VPS, the issue is that I don't want to install a complete desktop environment. Is there a way to accomplish this? I have enabled X11 forwarding in ssh and in the putty session, but continue to receive errors about displays. Anyone point me in the right direction?

You don't need a desktop environment to launch Firefox--all you need is X and a window manager.

If I remember correctly from when I was experimenting with Arch, a basic X install includes twm, at least on Arch.

You may find, however, that certain apps require the gtk libraries that commonly come with Gnome or the QT libraries that commonly come with KDE.
