# rpm -e openssh openssh-server
error: Failed dependencies:
openssh = 4.7p1-4.fc8 is needed by (installed) openssh-clients-4.7p1-4.fc8.i386
openssh = 4.7p1-4.fc8 is needed by (installed) openssh-askpass-4.7p1-4.fc8.i386
openssh-server is needed by (installed) denyhosts-2.6-7.fc8.noarch
Also check if the server is being started with the -f </path/to/configfile> or -i options. Make sure the correct config file is being used. The -i option will start the server from xinetd, and configuration options there may make some changes.
