SSH authentication hangs

I am lately facing a weird problem.
When i try to connect to a linux box using SSH2 (SecureCRT Client) it doen't log me in.
I use password for the authentication.
When the above happens i try to reconnect 2-3 times and then i log in.

Do you know what that means.

The machine uses tcp wrappers that accept my IP.

try providing some more info.. use ssh with double -v arguments so you get more output.

It think it won;t work as far as SecureCRT is a window-style win32 client

do you have a server or a client problem? I had a simmilar problem and it got solved by using -v -v and posting it here on LQ. It turned out to be configured wrong. The server. If you can get a hand on a liveCD try the normal ssh client that comes with the server (it should be inlcuded everywhere but it will certainly be here: www.phlak.org). Try to figure it out with output, as noone can do it blind
