Iptables-persistent package make Fail2Ban rules double, how to correct?

Not sure if I need iptables-persistent or if I can make my custom rules load without it? Anyway, it makes all the F2B rules double, could that be a problem for F2B service?

Not really, IF you know they're double.

wrt: persistent package...if you enable the [recidive] jail then persistent is not necessary.

something in /etc/fail2ban/actions.d/ get modified?

It seems shutting down Fail2Ban before saving other firewall rules to the persistent file does the trick.
