cat: /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules: No such file or directory
Hello all, i'm currently up to 7.13. Configuring the network script on using ubuntu as my host.
I ran the command: /lib/udev/write_net_rules all_interfaces and than received this message: /sys/class/net/ is not available, persistent interface names not saved.
Is this something to be worried about? because I just ran cat /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules and received this message: cat: /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules: No such file or directory
Distribution: Slackware 13.0, Ubuntu 9.10, Windows XP Pro SP3

maybe....
I get this
Code:
# This file maintains persistent names for network interfaces.
# See udev(7) for syntax.
#
# Entries are automatically added by the 75-persistent-net-generator.rules
# file; however you are also free to add your own entries.
# PCI device 0x14e4:0x167d (tg3)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:10:d0:f:c:00", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0"
# PCI device 0x8086:0x4227 (iwl3945)
SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="00:00:de:b:a:d", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="wlan*", NAME="wlan0"
I have always had problems running /lib/udev/write_net_rules all_interfaces from the host. Skip this step and go in then when you boot run the command and it should give the correct settings for your new LFS system. I build my first system from Debian and it gave LFS the wrong information for the file.
