encrypted folder recommendation? (Linux and OSX)

i have played with encfs, but know others are available. what would you recommend for a encrypting a 1TB folder and needing to access from both linux and osx? (i do have osx homebrew if needed.) i do know a solution or two, but am mostly requesting the recommendation. command-line preferred.
Thank you.

I would like to know what solutions you think you have found. Because I can't think of any.
Even if you use a filesystem which is understood by both Linux and OSX, no OTF encryption method I know of will be cross-compatible. If you're thinking of anything proprietary, good luck with that!
