zsnes tarball not installing

Hi I downloaded a zsnes tarball and unpacked it and ran configure and everything went fine. Wgen I run make I get:

cc1plus: error: CPU you selected does not support x86-64 instruction set
cc1plus: error: ‘-fcf-protection=full’ is not supported for this target
make: *** [Makefile:96: tools/fileutil.o] Error 1

can anyone help me get past this error so I can play some snes games? Thanks.

Apparently you are trying to build it for a 32bit system or something. What host_cpu is set to in config.log?

How_To_Ask_a_Question

We use your information that you provide to help you. I've a Ryzen 5 and
Code:
sudo cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep fcf-protection
doesn't give me anything on a 2 year old cpu.

You're going to have to do more if you want to get this running. Use google, don't be a help vampire. It seems like an intel thing.

try './configure --help |more' and read what you're shown. Then choose an intelligent set of options. You can have lines of them, and they all work. If you feel things are messed up, just delete the source and open the tarball again.

What's that about? Can't you post any relevant bit here?
