Zip Drive troubles

i am a noob using knoppix and i think it's great. But (had to know that was commin) i cant get the #$@% zip drive to work. i am running knoppix 3.4 and everything pretty much works as it should. i have read posts on the subject but cant get it up. please any help would be great

if/when you get it working, i'd reccomend going to a cdrw, the media is about 1/10th the cost.
