Question yahoo messenger i need help

I did a search on this board for yahoo messenger and getting it to work and it it suggested that i use GAIM to access yahoo. i have been successful in runinng aol instant messenger on gaim but it will not connect when i set up my yahoo acount I am using mandrake 9.2 can someone else make some suggestions please?

You need to use the latest version of Gaim, 0.74, and in the account setup, set it to connect to scs.msg.yahoo.com. http://gaim.sf.net

you need at least 0.70 for gaim to work with yahoo now...the newest is 0.74

i have 7.4 and yahoo still wont work, im going to try that link given by green.

I downloaded gaim .75 and now for some reason i cant install it. When i do run the install it says installed has failed and this comes up

Installation failed:
file /usr/lib/libgaim-remote.so.0.0.0 from install of gaim-0.75-0mdk9.2 conflicts with file from package libgaim-remote0-0.68-1mdk


What does this mean, what am i doing wrong, please somebody help me.
