wireless with PRO/Wireless 3945ABG and kubuntu-8.04

Trying to get wireless going on my Dell M1210 with kubuntu-8.03. lspci tells me I have PRO/Wireless 3945ABG so I downloaded various windows drivers and wlwifi-1.0.0-1 from Intel. K>System>Windows Wireless Drivers won't install any *.inf driver and I can't sudo make. I get a warning about bash and " Kernel Makefile not found at '/lib/modules/2.6.24-15-386/source'"
