Which distro has been most successful when dual booted Windows 7 on an HP 3105m netbo

I am new to the forms. I typically use Debian and Fedora (some ubuntu lately. I guess I would still consider mysel a newbie but not too green. I have recently been using an HP 3105m Netbook (which hammers down most netbooks.). I had installed jolicloud but found it not for me. I would like to install Ubuntu UNR 10.04 or another that anyone may suggest. I would like to use a flash to try the distro out to ensure its functionality with wireless Im not sure but I believe Ubuntu may have issues in this aea or even some help with a wrapper work around or other expert advice would be very helpful. I would like as easy an install as possible due to my need for the Windows for several school apps and my lack of experience dealing with dual booting win7. Not sure about the netbook as I haven't used it, but I definitely recommend trying distros from a live USB stick before installing. Multibooting Win7 with Fedora, Ubuntu, Puppy, Arch, PCLinuxOS, Mandriva, and a whole bunch of others over the last few years (I don't keep them all, but many find their way to my hard drive for a few weeks) hasn't been a problem.

If you want to have dual boot with Windows7,Ubuntu is a best distribution,because it's a client OS and it requires minimum 10 GB Harddish space,256 MB RAM.

WTF?? First, it doesn't require 10GB of hard disk space; it readily installs in 4GB for me, and I'm sure that's overkill as I still have 2GB free after adding the additional programs I want. Second, what is a client OS? Is this something that runs beneath a (local or) remote server OS? Third, 256MB of RAM is not enough to run Ubuntu efficiently. You could probably run Lubuntu with only 256MB RAM, but even it would drag a bit.

And he certainly CANNOT run Win7 on 256 meg of RAM.

Guessing here: Running linux in a virtual machine on 256 meg allocation ?

Thanks for all the tips! I did get Ubuntu 10.04 netbook remix going but was not very pleased with it. I then got my beloved Fedora 14 running very nicely. Some issues with the wireless but Ill deal with that in the near future. I believe it is a proprietary driver problem with the Broadcom wifi / Bluetooth 3.0 Combo chipset I have (It did not work with Ubuntu either, only works with a live usb copy of puppy linux I use on occasion). Any Ideas how to deal with this wireless issue anyone?

Use Puppy. Actually, you may want check out Barry Kauler's blog to see what he did wrt the Broadcom driver for the version of Puppy you're using. It might help you figure out how to deal with the problem when using another distro.
