What the best software to use with DV Camcorder


What is the best Linux video software out there, too many to pick for KDE platform.Any ideas??

Best is what works best for you. But I think you should have a look at OpenShot or Kdenlive.

What is the make/model of your camcorder and what are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to download video from the camcorder?

Live feed from DV Camcorder

Model is Andoer hand cam. use like a webcam.

I am not familiar with your camcorder but I believe it has live stream capability. I do not know if any settings are required on the camera itself. If you plug the camcorder in and it is recognized i.e. a /dev/video0 device is created then no other configuration is necessary.

If you have firewire, then I’d use dvgrab to dump the tapes into video files first, then edit from those.

Lightworks and DaVinci Resolve are both said to be good. Neither are free.
