trouble installing suse linux [There is not enough memory to load all data]

I'm trying to install Linux on my spare laptop via FTP because my cdrom doesn't work.

I've tried a few different ways and a few different distrabutions, but Suse seems the best so far. The boot iso and modules they provide gets me up with my network cards.

After I provide ftp server and directory, I get the following error:

"There is not enough memory to load all data.
To continue, activate some swap space."

What does this mean? Doesn't the install create NTFS by itself and manage what it needs to do? If not, how can I create the swap space it needs. It currently has NO O/S on it. Where can i get a boot iso that can get me a shell to do this?

Any ideas? Thanks!!

I just found out from Suse's website, I need 96MB to install over FTP...i only have 48MB, so that's why I need swap space.

How do i make swap space w/o O/S on my machine?
