I made a very minimal installation of Debian, and then went for synaptic. I got it installed too, but the repositories manager did not come with it. Or at least, the list of third party repositories doesn't show up.
Do you know what is going on? Do I need extra packages? Or at least please remember me the exact name of this programme -if it's indeed something apart-.
Thanks very much in advance.
Best.
Marcelo.

Thanks for your help. I hurry too much to post, anyway. Sorry.
It happened that Synaptic didn't respond when I went for the software sources box at settings > repositories. I thought it was an incomplete installation or something, but then it appeared to be just occasionally and I'm still trying to understand the logic.
I had no problem with repositories themselves, but it's good to have them.
try removing software-properties if you have it installed.
$ apt-cache search software-properties
python-software-properties - manage the repositories that you install software from
software-properties-common - manage the repositories that you install software from (common)
software-properties-gtk - manage the repositories that you install software from (gtk)
software-properties-kde - manage the repositories that you install software from (kde)
I have even seen similar posts on various forums where they list the repository not showing problem as a bug. All I had to do was uninstall python-software-properties and synaptic was able to show the repository list.
