Unhappy synaptic repositories needed

I finally downloaded and install synaptic after going through many yum.conf files. Then I realise that this synaptic has no repository sites for me to get additional software. Does anyone use synaptic to download xine and other mpeg software?

Can anyone give me some good repositories, also a really good yum.conf file? I lost my old one and that's why I am having these problems

try freshrpms . It has some really good software and if you use their apt/synaptic, the repository is preconfigured for you.

I used yum to get synaptic, and I use others yum.conf file with their repository sites. And now that I have it, I can't get mp3 codecs. I had received a yum.conf from an associate and it got me a synaptic that had eveything I needed to run multimedia application.

apt sources are added to /etc/apt/sources.lst or something similar.

Does anyone have and use synaptic to get codecs to use in Xine, Xmms, and other multimedia programs?

I would like to add your repository to mine?
