SuSE 9.0 & winmodem software

I just installed SuSE 9.0 on my computer (completely new system) and was reading the various threads about dialing with a winmodem. I then downloaded the correct winmodem software that I needed and read the help file for the software install. The only thing missing is what directory I should put the tar.gz file in before I do anything as root. If anyone can point me to the correct directory, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
indieFan

You did this in the /home/root directory?
