Something full - login looping

Linux Mint. Installed video capture and was trying to use. Nothing seemed to happen but it appears capture was happening in background. Later, tried to save a Libre doc and got messages /pop up saying that something was full and needed to be emptied. It wasn't c or external drive, more something internal. tried to follow prompts, but again nothing happening. Eventually rebooted, but now, when I enetr login/password, screen loops back and re-asks for login/password. Seems to accept password because if I put the wrong password, it identifies that it is wrong. Is there any way of guessing want needs to cleared/emptied and performing it from grub prior to boot?

Boot your install USB (any liveUSB) open a terminal, run this and post the output.
Code:
lsblk -f

No-one's in a hurry - I had to take the dog down to the lake for a swim ...

We need those filesystems mounted. You should be able to double-click in the GUI filemanager, then run the command again. Copy-and-paste will work from the live session - see the terminal menu in the top left.

What you posted in post 8 is the base (root) filesystem of your Linux Mint. Nothing unusual about that.

What that "something" is that was full is a clue to the solution. If you are capturing video, those will be large files and can easily fill space on the drive. Run the command below to show space used. WHere were the videos set to be saved? Specific info helps others help you.

df -h

there was no offer to save the videos anywhere. the dialogue box would offer ways to capture. Then, when I hit "capture", everything disappeared, which made me think it wasn't working.

re the video files created

my memory of seeing the files which were created was that they were among about 5 or 6 other files. They looked a bit "phantomy" like they didn't have an associated program - but now I'm just making stuff up. They looked different to the file icon I am used to.

hardware

I'm running a small laptop. I moved to Linux because the laptop was running incredibly slow with Windows 10. Seemed to solve the problem
