Something depends on something else but something else is to be installed

I am getting the following error when trying to install something with apt-get.

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libimobiledevice-utils : Depends: libimobiledevice1 (>= 1.0.2) but 1.0.1-1ubuntu0.1 is to be installed

There are other errors, but I want to concentrate on this one, because I don't understand it.

a depends on b but c is to be installed.

Is it just badly worded? What does it mean, actually?

It means that the package libimobiledevice-utils depends on another package libimobiledevice1. The particular version of libimobiledevice-utils requires that libimobiledevice1 be of version 1.0.2 or later. However, the repository that you are using only has version 1.0.1-1ubuntu0.1. This means that you would end up with the wrong version of libimobiledevice1, so rather than potentially cause a failure, it doesn't do the installation.

This problem is typically caused by mixing packages from different sources or repositories, in this case possibly a package that is too new for your version of Ubuntu.

Usually unmet dependencies are due to your /etc/apt/sources.list, the dependencies that may be required to install maybe in another repository.
post output of "cat /etc/apt/sources.list".
