some locale problem


Hi folks!
I got a problem with locale hence some programs (e.g. mc) aint' work right: http://pic.ipicture.ru/uploads/090925/qtuUTVDVaS.jpg - this is what i'm talking about.

how to fix it?

That depends. What Linux distribution and what version? How do you know the problem is related to locale and not available display fonts?

it's Red Hat Linux release 9 (Shrike)
I realy don't know exactly that is related to locale. I just suggested =)

That distro is so obsolete it's not funny. There hasn't been any updates (inc security!) for years.

Is there any reason you can't use a current distro eg Fedora 11 or Centos 5.3 if you like the RH style?
