Question Snort failed, Debian


Hi, i have this message when opening the system:

starting network intruction detection system snort [fail]

i didn't find nothing in google related to this subject that can help me with, others so on my pc don't have this problem.

Debian wheezy 7.6, installed just a week ago.

Etho ERROR interface not available

I've had the same error. It's caused by not having a database configured for snort.

hi, ... snort was already installed by harden, harden nids, etc from the synaptic and none of the database are configured, right, but now by following these instructions i found that i can't overcome this problem: apt-get install acidbase, because it can not find this acidbase (?)

it looks to me that the whole think is to complicated; do i have to remove harden first? thanks.
