Snort failed, Debian
Hi, i have this message when opening the system:
starting network intruction detection system snort [fail] i didn't find nothing in google related to this subject that can help me with, others so on my pc don't have this problem. Debian wheezy 7.6, installed just a week ago. thanks for any help sorry, but the screen move to fast and there is something else too at the end: Etho ERROR interface not available |
I've had the same error. It's caused by not having a database configured for snort.
Here is a howto to guide you in getting the database configured: http://www.aboutdebian.com/snort.htm |
hi, ... snort was already installed by harden, harden nids, etc from the synaptic and none of the database are configured, right, but now by following these instructions i found that i can't overcome this problem: apt-get install acidbase, because it can not find this acidbase (?)
it looks to me that the whole think is to complicated; do i have to remove harden first? thanks. |
