Root folder

Hi Guys,

need help have put files in root folder by mistake, now wont boot after password keeps cycling. Have put live disc in & can see files in root folder but not letting me delete them. Is it possible to do this from safe mode without cd?, If so what string do I need to input in command line to enable to do this???

Any help would be great

Thanks
;-D

When you boot to LiveCD, make sure you mount the partition as read-write, and make sure you attain privileges of root in the CD environment.

How do you know it stops halfway through? Does the file a normal name? If you want, try overwriting the file with nothing (i.e., in bash “> filename”). Then try removing it (“rm filename”).
