Quesstions with Proftpd

I am trying to setup and configure an ftp server -- proftpd server -- to be exact. I have downloaded, installed, and I thought configured the app. However, I cannot get it to run. When I try running it from a shell I get the following error:

- Fatal: unable to read configuration file '/usr/sbin/etc/proftpd.conf': No such file or directory

I went to /usr/sbin/ and there is not a /etc/ directory, which may very well be the problem. So yea, I have no clue what I need to do to fix this problem. If there is anyone that could help with me this it would be great!

Weird, my proftpd.conf seems to be in /etc

What you could do is

Code:
locate proftpd.conf
mkdir /usr/sbin/etc/
cp /location of file/proftpd.conf /usr/sbin/etc/
Its ugly, but just see if it work. I'm not sure how safe that would be though.
