pre- installation inq

Hello everybody,

I'm working on redhat 9. so far, I successfully installed Apache and PHP... tested Apache and PHP and it tested ok… was able to view info sheet.

Next step is to install MYSQL. <-----

Before I started installing MYSQL, i did some research in terms of possible problems and configuration ideas. I ran across a document that specifically said that I should "install MYSQL before installing PHP”, is this true???

I already installed apache and php, so, what kind of problem could i expect to run into if the above statement is true that I should install mysql before php..

any thoughts on this posting?

Robin

Yeah, you have to use the mysql option when running the ./configure script. I beleive that you can install mysql and then recompile php and not hurt anything.
