playing mp3's..

i have Ubuntu, and there is no program that can play mp3's, what program should i get ? or do people just get the codec from somewhere?

Preferably i would like to know what the most popular music player would be, that can play all music. (kind of like how Windows Media Player is with windows)

Well, the most popular music player is most likely XMMS. If you want movies, you'll need to get Xine or mplayer (I prefer mplayer).

XMMS though will handle your mp3's - use Synaptic or apt-get to get it.

MP3 and DVD is not enabled by default on Ubuntu due to legal issues.
MP3 support is easily enabled by typing this in the terminal:

sudo apt-get install xmms
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.8-mad
