Netscape Installation error

Hi All,
Definite Newbie here...but willing to learn.
I have tried to install Netscape 6 onto my Mandrake 7.2 dist. 3 times. I keep getting the same error. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what can be going wrong?

my terminal program returns this error after installation:
Segmentation fault

Then I tried it again...

[gizmo@localhost netscape-6]$ ./netscape-installer
./netscape-installer: line 48: 1737 Segmentation fault ./netscape-installer-bin --sync

Any suggestions?

the older mozilla builds used to have to be installed as root, or the installer would puke. i don't know if they fixed this for netscape 6 (mozilla m18) or not.

from the terminal type:

su
then the root password, then cd to the directory you unpacked netscape and try again.
