Missing applications in taskbar

I recently install Hardy Heron 8.04 and found that when i would open an application, it would not show in the taskbar thus when i minimize it, i am not able to re open it or see where it has gone. How do i get the applications to appear in the task bar again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try to right-click on the panel, select "Add to panel" and choose "Windows list". Usually applications are minimized in a panel on the bottom of the screen. If the bottom panel is missing too, right click on the top panel and select "New Panel", then add the "Windows list".
