Applications only half way on taskbar...

Using redhat 9 and gnome :

whenever I load up a few applications, and they appear in the task bar, the taskbar will only display the application buttons half way along the taskbar... hope this makes sense, ill proberbly have to post a screeny if you dont get it ....

maybe you have 2 virtual workspaces set up, and
the taskbar is splitting the apps by workspace?

how would I know if its spliiting applications by workspace ?

Hi,

If it is showing only half, you might not have a lot of room on the task bar. It will compress the running app buttons to a smaller size if you have a lot running or you have not given it much room. Try sliding the space a little either way, or closing a couple apps. Does it show them then? Maybe I am barking up the wrong tree, but just trying to help
