Linux on iPod?

So, I'm real new to this linux thing, And i'm not sure if this is the right type or place to post this, But I want to get a distro or something on my iPod Nano Gen 3. I tried searching for it with no result for my spesific model. Any ideas? I mainly want it to run Doom though.

I notice that the nano gen 3 is listed as not working due to "encrypted firmware"

The best ipod support is the larger ipods and the Video, though the Video I think has problems due to the new 5.5g layout? I'm not sure.
