loading songs onto the ipod from linux breaks ipod
ok so i have been a faithful linux user for almost a year now and i have decided to stay with ubuntu on my laptop because i broke all other ones. but i open amarok an plug in my ipod and get it all configured but it says that it can not load songs onto ipod. then i tried Rhythmbox but it can only take the songs off of my ipod but it can't play any of them so i play them all in amarok. then to get the songs onto my ipod i installed gtkpod and tried to upload the songs but it turns out that my ipod cant play them because of the format, so i re-import my cd's to linux using the .wma encoder and then when i load them onto the ipod it can play the songs... yay... then i try to play any of my old songs and they all don't work and my ipod has been partitioned into 2 different partitions. took my about an hour to get a windows comp of mine to work again. then i reformated my ipod and it still barely works and lots of the songs stop playing again so i reformat it again and again and again and again now it finally works again so i am just wondering but what did linux do to my ipod. and by the way i have a first gen color ipod.
