Question Lilo question (Gentoo)

I'm attempting to get Gentoo installed from Stage1 and it's been fine up until this point.

I just edited my Lilo.conf file (which looks like this):

boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
lba32
default=linux

image=/boot/bzImage
label=linux
read-only
root=/dev/hda3

After I exit Lilo.conf I try to do the following command:

/sbin/lilo

and get back the following error message:

Added gentoo-linux
Fatal: No images have been defined or default image doesn't exist.

Any clue why I'm getting this message and how I can fix it?

Thanks

that's clearly not the correct file..... it says that it's added "gentoo-linux" when that label is not included in the file you have provided....

Re:

I changed the label to gentoo-linux and I still get the same error.

how do you mean you changed it? if it's the wrong config file, then it's not being used...

So what do I do? Can I delete the conf file and create a new one?

he means it looks like the file you are editing isn't the
one that lilo is using. usually it uses /etc/lilo.conf
you can specify which file to use with a lilo option.
lilo -C configfile. that way you can make sure which
one it is using.
