Unhappy lilo problems

hi... i used to dual boot redhat and xp..

yesterday i repartitioned my hard disk wiping clean

my entire linux partition coz i want to switch to slackware..

today i installed slackware but cant seem to be able to boot

into it because the lilo that redhat installed still persists and it

doesnt provide a slackware choice but instead still offers the red

hat like ( which goes no where anymore coz i removed it )

With a Windows bootdisk:

boot from disk
type fdisk /mbr and hit enter
you will then need to reboot and install lilo (you'll need to boot from your linux bootdisk or install cd to do this)

Yes. If you do a search, that question has come up several times recently. There should be enough info in the posts to get you started.

Hope

Can you boot from the CD. I think there is a rescue mode in there somewhere.

Sorry, Mandrake user. Can't be to specific.

Ooops

Me Mandrake user. I'm getting ready for Slackware though. Got the CD's. You may have to boot from a linux floppy to fix that. I can boot from my Mandrake CD and fix on mine but Slackware isn't bootable if I recall correctly.

May want to see if someone else jumps in to help. Slackware user maybe. Sorry.

Someone help.

Uh oh

You sound like me. I want Mandrake 9.2, Slackware 9, Gentoo 1.4, Linux from Scratch and a couple of others to. Need bigger drive, much bigger drive. Also need DSL. Here comes that rant again. Better go.

Later
